Prior to watching it, I didn’t know what a redneck was. Now I have a really good idea—kind of like the? I watched a couple of episodes with one of my kids, who farted under the blanket—twice—and then stepped outside to pee on the plant. I realized I had raised a few rednecks in our house. Everyday I have to bug them about their hygiene and manners and pray I can raise decent men who will be kind to their future spouses.

What comes shocking in Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is it features a household of girls that act like boys—farting, running around barefoot, burping, and smelling each other’s breath. They are my mom’s worst nightmare!

However, I have to admit I enjoyed the show so much that I finished 10 episodes within 24 hours. I started with five episodes, and then I got grossed out. Then at night I had another marathon and finished it. I know it was caused by my gum chewing, which was due to my diet. I’ve been dieting for one week and I’ve already lost 3 lbs. I need to lose about 13 more. Dieting makes my mouth dry and gives one bad breath, so I chew gum a few times a daw. Hence the singaw—not one, but two. It feels like three.

So I’ve stopped chewing gum, been taking Vitamin B, and applying Pyralvex on the sores. I should gargle Bactidol. Sometimes it feels like the sores are closing or about to end, then they open up again. The pain is so great that I develop a migraine, which doubles the pain. This diet is such a suffering that I’ve stayed mostly at home and in bed. This past week my best friend has been the Apple TV, which I discovered through my techie Dad.

Apple TV is a little gadget you connect to the back of your TV. I got mine from Amazon for only $99. To make it work you’ll need wifi, an Apple ID, and a Mac. From there you can watch all the latest trailers and download all the movies and TV shows on iTunes. Much better if you have a US-based account (like I do) for better selections on movies and TV. I’ve seen some interesting movies and documentaries lately.

I should tell you about it in the days to come. Some time ago, my brother-in-law Leo Riingen, who runs the Informatics franchise in the Philippines, told me the students were asking for a new uniform they could be proud of.

He asked me to design it. “I’m a little rusty,” I told him. I thought of consulting my sister Ana, who is an art student, but she had other designs in mind—think Japanese student, which the Informatics students didn’t like. So I thought of tapping Rajo Laurel, who designs the best uniforms in town. Every time I see a nice uniform—whether it’s Max’s or Peninsula Manila—I find out Rajo designed the uniforms. I brought it up with my brother-in-law who was afraid Rajo would be unaffordable, especially on a student’s budget. But a couple of calls later, they came to an agreement.

I would say Rajo’s uniform design for Informatics looks like a success. Of course it would help if all the students looked like beauty queen Carin Ramos above (just kidding!!). Here’s a rendering of his designs below, including the men’s uniform. Leo says the students love the new designs. Informatics College, a Singapore-based IT school with over 20 institutes and colleges in the Philippines will be introducing its new student uniforms this coming semester. Informatics commissioned top designer Rajo Laurel to conceptualized a modern classic uniform that will reflect the school’s international and young character, while ensuring the comfort and practicality of wearing an everyday, all-temp attire.

The blue and white top with an embroidered gray logo of the school will be worn with matching dark pants by all Informatics College students at least three times a week. Informatics students are also required to wear business attire once a week to allow them to suit up for corporate life, while Fridays are for casuals. Luke’s hospital for 13 days. It started with the worst kind of stomach pain. For a week, doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me, until I begged for a CT scan—I know right!

Initial scan results showed something unusual in my intestines. When one of my doctors made his rounds at night, I asked him confidentially if he thought I might have the big C. “It’s possible,” he said.

The only way they would know for sure was to open me up in surgery. And so the night before my surgery I used the PC in my hospital room and deleted a blog that was more like a diary. In 2003 not too many people knew about blogs, so you could really say anything you wanted. I was afraid I might die and didn’t want to leave the legacy of that blog. The operation was a success. No cancer and almost nine years later I’m still here. I haven’t been confined to the hospital since then.

For that I am very grateful to God! Through the years my blog has evolved many times, changing hosts and platforms. I’ve had to adjust due to the readership’s concerns, requests, and reactions.

Now it’s a very public blog and I can’t write everything I want, especially anything that’s not PC (politically correct). Now imagine you’re a blogger with a death sentence. Dave communicates with a Tobii eye-gaze computer that tracks his eye-movement, which he used to post to and, and message his sister. On October 8, 2012, Dave found out he had pneumonia.

Having seen his friends die from pneumonia, he knew there was a huge possibility he wouldn’t make it, and took the opportunity to write a farewell blog post before his health turned to worse. While they were taking a train to get a new passport to the Hague, they got a call from the police. Someone had dumped her passport in the trashcan.

I saw a stolen shot of Garovs’ gown by Mich Dulce, and it is amazing!! So I found out the new open mall/area across from Bonifacio High Street has a name—it’s Bonifacio High Street Central. The open area is surrounded by three buildings: the first one has Cake Club and Mango Tree; the second has Cotton On, Slice, and Jamba Juice; and the third is a shopping mall with Y-3 and Fred Perry underneath, G-Star Raw and the A.Shop on the second second level. Through my sister Ana, I heard that FLIGHT 001 opened last week in the third building I mentioned. FLIGHT 001 (pronounced “flight one”) was conceived in 1998 by John Sencion and Brad John—two business travelers who envisioned a one-stop travel store with a retro-modern feel.
