Rated 5 out of 5 by Mar19th502 from Cryptex of Time/Zenerchi Wow, I almost overlooked this goody! I found Zenerchi before it was cool and feel like I just found another M3 winner. Sound is top-notch, help is great, not the typical match 3 and takes thought and planning. I see there is freeplay as well as the original. Don't get scared by the timer, it's unobtrusive. The game in-between main sessions IS timed and you know it but it's generous.
Excellent memory training for us oldsters. The game itself is outstanding. You'll have to try it because I don't think I can explain stacked wheels that you rotate to make matches. And there are bombs that are VERY satisfactory when they blow up. Rated 5 out of 5 by AbbyDarien from Must try game This is def one of the best mach three game that I've played in a while. It's not one of the traditional boards that is reguraly used.
The grafics are good and it has a prity good story line and I am def going to buy this one to see how it plays out. I don't want to say much more with out spoiling the game, just take it from a long time gamer and a fan of Mach three games on this site that if u like these kinds of games make sure that you give this one a shot you wont be let down.

If you don't know what a 'cryptex' is, it is a circular thingy that generally has runes or codes or something of that sort that you need to have a specific 'entry' or 'order' of things in order to open it or make it work. THAT is a VERY generic explanation of one. This cryptex is also circular and is made up of an assortment of colored and different-shaped gems. (HOW PRETTY!) The goal of the game is to make matches of 3 or more of the same shape and color gem to destroy them.
As you do this, the empty part of the cryptex 'wheel' will fill up as a new wheel (s) comes down on the top level. Your goal is NOT to let the cryptex wheels get too high.

There were no bonuses for getting matches of 4 or more. There WERE obstacles to keep you from making matches.
Doesn't seem very fair. There are 2 modes of play. Timed mode - where you are given an optional tutorial (TAKE THE TUTORIAL) and Free mode, where you just keep playing until the cryptex wheel gets too high - or you just don't move fast enough - and the game is over. This game is soooo not for me. I found myself trying to fill up the empty spaces left behind from making matches instead of trying to make more matches. I levelled up with no problem, but it was stressful.
I don't like my match 3 games to be stressful. The Free mode was just too boring. I also like my match 3 games to have a bit of a story behind it.
A 'reason' to play the game. For the above reasons, this will NOT be a purchase for me. But, it IS unique and for that reason I will recommend it to anyone who likes a challenge and/or likes a match 3 game.
